Children in the age group of 3-4 are in a crucial phase of their development. The physical and mental faculties develop rapidly during this period, and they demonstrate a natural curiosity to explore their environment and learn new things. This is why a child’s nursery education is of utmost importance.
In this age group, children can think of objects and people not in their immediate vicinity and can think of events that happened in the past or those yet to happen. This is the stage when children start learning social behavior through interactions with other children.
Montana International Preschool’s nursery curriculum has been designed keeping in mind the unique intellectual, physical, emotional, and social needs of children between the ages 3-4 to have a safe, dynamic, and nurturing learning environment where each child can thrive. At this stage, they need to be taught creatively and interactively to learn properly and don’t get bored.
Children have a basic understanding of pre-maths concepts and we build on this by introducing them to rote counting and number identification. They also learn about the days of the weeks and months of the year. Our nursery students are taught to grip pencils and trace letters, patterns, and numbers. They develop basic reading and recitation skills as well.
We ensure that the children learn creative, interpersonal, and social skills so that they grow up to be well-balanced individuals. They are introduced to the concepts of community and caring for the environment to drive home the point at this young age.
We focus on hands-on learning as children tend to have shorter attention spans and are unlikely to grasp much in a formal classroom environment where they may feel stifled. Our students participate in numerous group activities and learn how to collaborate with others to complete tasks. They are encouraged to express themselves using verbal and non-verbal communication.
We plan regular field visits to expose our students to natural surroundings where they get to observe different kinds of plants and animals. Our students learn about various types of food, different varieties of plants, and different categories of animals. To make learning about food fun, we let the children prepare their own easy, no-fire recipes!
We understand that creative pursuits are as important as academics and regularly organize dance, drama, and music shows where the students get to explore their imaginative sides.
